Invasion of feral goats eliminated from island

The Isabela Project is complete after 8 years. The largest project ever undertaken of its type, it succeeded in eradicating an invasion of feral goats from northern Isabela Island, the largest island of the Galapagos archipelago and its neighboring Santiago Island.

5 whales rescued from Galapagos beach

A number of 10 to 30 feet long pilot wales which beached themselves on one of the Galapagos islands beaches, where rescued by returning them to the ocean, but seven others died despite rescue efforts to sustain them by building makeshift pools.
