Though tourism plays a big role in the economic progress of a country through the incoming taxes and and revenues derived from the tourists to a particular "hot spot", it not always beneficial to the protection and preservation of a that place. This holds true with the Galapagos Islands, as a high demand of tourists are expected to arrive at the country because of the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin, who theorized his theory of evolution after he visited the Galapagos.
