Chevron Unit Hooked on a $27-B Environmental case

CNN Money reports last Monday that the U.S. Supreme Court will not give a decision regarding an Ecuadorian oil company that could allegedly held partially responsible in $27 billion case against Texaco Petroleum Co., which is a Chevron Corp. unit. Texaco had a partnership with Petroecuador (stated-owned) for 22 years of operation in Ecuador's Oriente region in which Ecuadorians believes it had harmed the environment.
